You can uninstall most Windows 11 apps from the Start menu or from Settings > Apps > Installed apps. Traditional desktop programs can also use Control Panel. Some apps are built into Windows and do not provide an uninstall option.
Uninstall an App from Settings
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Select Installed apps.
- Find the app you want to remove.
- Select the More button next to the app.
- Select Uninstall.
- Follow any additional instructions from the app’s uninstaller.

- Open Start.
- Select All apps if necessary.
- Find the app.
- Right-click the app.
- Select Uninstall.
Use Control Panel for a Traditional Program
- Search Windows for Control Panel and open it.

- Follow the program’s removal instructions.
Microsoft notes that some programs that cannot be removed from Settings can be handled through Control Panel.
Why Is There No Uninstall Option?
Some applications and programs are built into Windows and cannot be uninstalled normally. Do not delete an application’s folder manually or run an unknown debloating script simply because Windows does not show an Uninstall button.
Will Uninstalling Apps Make Windows Faster?
Removing software you do not use can free storage, and removing an app that runs background or startup processes can reduce some resource use. However, uninstalling an ordinary app does not automatically make every PC faster. Remove software because you no longer need it or because it is causing a known problem, not because every installed app is inherently harmful to performance.
