AirPods can connect to a Windows 11 computer as a standard Bluetooth headset. You can listen to audio and use supported microphone features, but Apple-specific features such as Siri are not available in the same way they are on Apple devices.
How to Pair AirPods with Windows 11
- Open Settings on the Windows 11 PC.
- Select Bluetooth & devices and make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
- Select Add device, then choose Bluetooth.
- Put the AirPods into pairing mode.
- For AirPods 4 or AirPods Pro 3, open the case with the AirPods inside and double-tap the front until the status light flashes white. For AirPods 1, 2, or 3 and AirPods Pro 1 or 2, open the case with the AirPods inside and hold the setup button on the back for about five seconds, or until the light flashes white.
- Select the AirPods when they appear in Windows.
- Wait for Windows to finish connecting them.
If Your AirPods Do Not Appear
Make sure the AirPods and case have charge, Bluetooth is enabled, and the AirPods are actually in pairing mode. If they are already connected to another nearby device, disconnecting that device temporarily can make troubleshooting easier.
Choose AirPods as the Audio Device
If the AirPods connect but sound still comes from the computer speakers, open the Windows sound output controls and select the AirPods. Apps with their own audio-device settings may also need to be changed separately.
AirPods Features on Windows
Apple documents AirPods as usable with non-Apple Bluetooth devices for listening and talking, but Siri is unavailable. Other Apple ecosystem features can also be limited compared with using AirPods with an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
